In order for us to work more effectively and free up nursing appointments we are instigating a new method of collecting samples of urine. The Practice needs to better align the clinical administration time required in processing samples of urine and so with effect Tuesday 4 May 2021 we will be adopting the following protocols:
- Sample of Urine Kit. Patients will need to collect a Sample of Urine kit from our Reception 2 (on the left as you enter the Practice). The kit is labelled with instructions and will also have two additional labels with the Practice’s and patient’s details for audit purposes. The kit comprises of a pro forma, that must be completed and accompany the sample, and a sample pot.
- Timelines. The sample, in its original packaging, must be returned to the Practice by 12:30 on any given weekday for it to be processed.
- Unauthorised Samples. An unauthorised sample is considered to be one where it has not been processed as a kit issued by the Practice to the patient. We do not have the capacity to deal with unauthorised samples and as such any unauthorised, anonymous, or late samples will be discarded.
