Health and Social Care Integration

Health and Social Care Partnerships (HSCP) across Scotland were launched on 1st April 2016.  These will bring NHS and local authority services together with the aim of benefiting local communities.

Legislation heralding health and social care integration was passed by the Scottish Parliament in February 2014 and came into force on 1st April 2016.

NHS Grampian has been working in partnership with Aberdeen City, Aberdeenshire and Moray Councils to develop and implement arrangements to support health and social care integration.

In Grampian there are now three Integrated Joint Boards – Aberdeen City, Aberdeenshire and Moray – with each having responsibility for health and social care services and budgets in their respective areas.  This represents a significant change in the way that health and social care is planned and organised in Scotland.

Details about the work going on in each area is available at the following link.
